Day 15

Read Luke – Chapter 15
Think about…
Yesterday Jesus gave a hard teaching about what it means to be a disciple. Today, in Luke 15, he shares the benefits of being a disciple.

Jesus said in chapter 14 that his disciples always put him first. In chapter 15 he describes how much he cares for all of humankind. In this chapter Jesus gives us multiple glimpses in how far God goes to seek and save the ones who are lost. What we find in this amazing chapter is that God actively pursues us when we are lost. He went so far as to give his own Son that we might be saved. And in the parable of the prodigal son he reminds us that even when we are unworthy of his love, his grace loves and accepts us.

Today as you read these words of love and grace ask yourself, are you separated from God? If you are, the very fact that you have read these words of Scripture is another reminder of God seeking after you. If you consider yourself to be close to God and a committed disciple, are you walking in the light of his grace? Are you living like the loved and accepted daughter or son of a holy God? Because that is exactly what you are today!
