Membership Reaffirmation

Membership Commitments

As part of The Wesleyan Church, our membership model can be expressed like this:

BELIEVE > BELONG > BECOME

Membership (belonging) is part of the path of a disciple: We want believers to be a part of the body of Christ as they are becoming more like Him.

The Wesleyan Church asks its members to make an annual reaffirmation of their commitment to Christ and their loyalty to The Wesleyan Church.

Summary of the Membership Commitments

I believe in Jesus Christ and I have been baptized. (It’s a statement of your faith in Jesus.)
I am committed to grow in Christ. (It’s our goal as Christ-followers: to be more like Him.)
I am committed to the Articles of Religion. (These are the things we believe about who God is.)
I accept the authority of The Wesleyan Church in matters of church government. (These are the rules of our denomination — how we vote, hire a pastor, have a local church board, etc.)
I am committed to living out the mission of The Wesleyan Church and my local church body, Albion Wesleyan Church. (TWC’s mission is: Transforming lives, churches, and communities through the hope and holiness of Jesus Christ. Our mission at AWC flows from that: Our mission is to help people find Jesus, follow him, and guide others.)
